Klaus Neumann ist ein renommierter Autor\, der für seine preisgekrönten Bücher über die australische Migrationspolitik bekannt ist. Er hat seine Doktorarbeit über die Geschichte und Geschichten in Papua-Neuguinea verfasst und war als Professor für Geschichte in Melbourne tätig. Klaus Neumann analyzes the reasons why protection is granted or refused. He looks in particular at local political disputes\, for example in the west of Hamburg and in south-eastern Saxony. Neumann shows how discourses on the admission of GDR resettlers\, migrants and refugees were closely linked to debates on racism\, right-wing radicalism and democratic participation as well as West and East German identities. His book provides new insights into three and a half decades of German history and makes a case for discussing why Germany should take in refugees. \nProf. Dr. Klaus Neumann is a historian and cultural scientist. His research focuses on historical justice and the politics of remembrance. Klaus Neumann is a renowned author known for his award-winning books on Australian migration policy. He wrote his PhD thesis on the history and stories of Papua New Guinea and was a professor of history in Melbourne.
